by Brendan Nystedt | December 28, 2011

Sounds like Santa was busy making a ton of Android smartphones! According to Google Senior Vice President of Mobile Andy Rubin, there were around 3.7 million new Android device activations on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Rubin took to the Twitter streets to shout the news from the highest points of the world wide web. This just a few days after Rubin himself announced that there are more that 700K new Android devices every single day. It’s a certain thing that the Android team had very happy holidays this year.
